The Workshop FW and The Crossing have partnered together to develop a work-based learning program designed to provide at-risk high school students with a comprehensive, hands-on, immersive experience that blends theory and practical skills through the AWS (American Welding Society) accredited welding curriculum. This program offers a pathway to graduation for The Crossing students. Students who complete the program receive a certificate of completion from The Workshop FW and AWS. Students will also have the opportunity to test off-site to receive their accredited welding certifications, allowing them to seek employment after graduation. 

 

The Workshop FW has also partnered with CORE, a Vocational Training Program that provides training to individuals with disabilities to learn the skills of welding. CORE provides participants with job skills training and work experiences that are necessary to achieve meaningful and gainful employment. This inclusive program welcomes individuals whether they are currently in Vocational Rehabilitation Services or not. Participants have the opportunity to achieve CORE certification as well as the prestigious American Welding Society (AWS) certification.

Additionally, The Workshop FW has created a partnership with SEED Fort Wayne to deliver DEVELOP, a Small-Scale Developer Program, a 12-week course designed to equip emerging developers with the foundational skills required to build single-family and multi-family housing on infill lots. Together, The Workshop FW and SEED provide a comprehensive training experience that blends classroom instruction, hands-on exercises, and real-world development work, guiding participants through financial modeling, zoning, permitting, construction management, and the creation of a complete business plan.
